Purchasing Director F/M
The position
The Purchasing Manager in the agri-food sector plays a strategic role within the company, being responsible for the management and optimization of all purchasing activities. This professional is essential for ensuring the competitiveness and efficiency of the supply chain, and works closely with the Industrial Department to align purchasing strategy with overall corporate objectives.
The missions
- Management of purchasing portfolio including various raw materials such as meat products, vegetables, fruit, and packaging materials.
- Active participation in purchasing negotiations for services, supplies and industrial equipment.
- Establishment of annual purchasing objectives and budgeting in line with corporate strategy.
- Constantly seeking the best prices while managing the entire purchasing process.
- Develop purchasing strategy taking into account international market trends and specific product requirements.
- Creation and maintenance of long-term relationships with suppliers and prospecting for new strategic partnerships.
- Manage supplier relationships, monitor orders, and ensure compliance with cost, quality and delivery policies.
- Collaborate with the Quality department to improve supplier quality monitoring.
- Responsible for administrative management of purchasing and ERP updates.
- Ensure compliance with purchasing budget and implement improvement plans.
- Regular reporting to management and communication of key performance indicators.
Profile requirements
- At least 7 years’ experience in a similar purchasing function.
- Higher education in agricultural engineering with specialization in purchasing, or business school diploma with specialization in purchasing.
- Ability to structure purchasing processes pragmatically, with a constant focus on efficiency and performance.
- Ability to work in project mode with various corporate functions, and to manage both operational and strategic issues.
- Recognized for rigor, analytical skills and diplomacy, with a willingness to question processes in order to innovate.
- Autonomy, excellent interpersonal skills and team spirit.
Remuneration
Compensation for the position of Purchasing Manager in the food industry is generally based on experience, qualifications and responsibilities. It may include a competitive base salary, performance-related bonuses and other company benefits.
